Health Benefits of Eating Pumpkin.pngCrisp cool air, short days, layered clothing, football games, and of course, Pumpkin. Yes, it’s Fall, and it’s wonderful. Have you noticed that as soon as school starts, you can walk into any Walmart, Target or Hobby Lobby and be overpowered by all the Pumpkin? Pumpkin sweets, Pumpkin drinks, Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin… But did you know that Pumpkin has health benefits?

Here at LifeSpring we are always looking for ways to help our customers live a better life. Check out the following list of ways eating Pumpkin can help you live healthier:

  1. Improved Eyesight – Since Pumpkin is rich in Vitamin A, eating a cup of mashed Pumpkin can aid your eyesight, especially in dim lighting.
  2. Weight Loss – Because Pumpkin is full of Fiber, it is a good sustaining food. If you eat Pumpkin, you should feel full longer and therefore, have less urge to eat more.
  3. Healthy Heart –  The seed of a Pumpkin can help lower cholesterol by the fiber and phytosterols, which is a plant-based chemical.
  4. Stronger Immune System – The other major Vitamin found in Pumpkin is Vitamin C. This may help build your immune system and keep that Autumn cold away.

These tips may not apply if you’re eating a Pumpkin brownie, but Pumpkin is good for you! Try the seed or mashing the Pumpkin to get the most nutrients.
