Managing Stress in Rough Times


Sometimes life catches up with us. Work problems arise, relationships conflict, and things just don’t go according to plan. What can we do to manage the stress in our lives? Small techniques can make a big difference.

Here are a few ideas to help you destress in rough times:

  1. Detach from the stressor. If there is an increasingly stressful aspect to your life, then it might be helpful to take a short break from the stressor. Go on vacation or take time alone to regather your thoughts.
  2. Get support from those around you. It is so important to have a healthy support system in your life. These people can keep you accountable and encourage you when you feel down.
  3. Exercise. Doing cardio, joining a spin class, or lifting weights can be a great way to get rid of stress. The workout routine will benefit your body and mind.
